KU Syndicate takes important decisions

Karachi: A session of KU Syndicate was held, presided by the Vice Chancellor KU Prof. Dr. Mohammad Qaiser in which the minutes of the Syndicate Session held on 9th May 2015 were authenticated while the report on the implementation on the resolutions were approved. Approval was given for the holding of Selection Board held on 31st August, 7 and 8th October, 2015.

The following Chairpersons were designated for the chairpersonships of their respective departments. Nadeem Ahmed Khan in Petroleum Technology, Prof. Dr. Rafiq Alam in Pharmacology, Dr. Zahid Ali in Islamic Learning, Prof. Dr. Shamim Akhtar in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Dr. Shabib ul Hasan in Public Administration, Prof. Dr. S.M. Taha in General History, Dr. Nabeel Zuberi in Sociology, Prof. Dr. Anwar Ali Zaidi in Mathematics while Dr. Abdul Wahab Soori in philosophy.

The syndicate lauded and appreciated the services of Sardar Yasin Malik for the welfare of KU.

A committee was constituted to look into the matter of the sanction of leave encashment for KU employees.

Adoption of the Government of Pakistan Finance Division Office Memorandum No. F-12(2) Reg. 6/2015-699 related to communication was approved.

In addition to these, in the light of the letter dated 10th August, 2015 from the Editor in Chief Pakistan Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Dean Faculty of Pharmacy, allocation of “Pakistan Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences” building on 150 yards area was approved while the Journal will bear the cost of the construction through its financial resources.

It was further decided in the Syndicate that in the matter of the faulty members who were sent to different countries for perusing PhD. under Faculty Development Program and didn’t return, letters to the respective High Commission will be sent and strict disciplinary action will be taken.

On the issue of Assistant Professor Pharmacology department Mrs. Tasneem Mariam Sajjad and Assistant Professor Faiza Abdul Rab, Department of Food Science and Technology, a three member committee is constituted which will be composed of Prof. Dr. Anila Amber Malik, Prof. Dr. Riaz, and Prof. Dr. Seema Munaf.

Syndicate lauded the Students Tracking System and hoped that it will increase the resources of KU. Refer back cases of the teachers were approved and it was noted that the said cases will be sent to the selection board or relevant referees.
