KWSB disconnects 13 illegal water connections

KARACHI: Acting on special instructions to Provincial Minister for Information and Local government Sharjeel Inam Memon and Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) Managing Director (MD) Syed Hashim Raza Zaidi 13 illegal water connections of three main diameter’s line were disconnected.

According to report, the water thieves had taken illegal connections from the 24 inches diameter pipeline of water board passed through Ijtema Gah in Orangi Town.

Due to this it disrupted supply of water to Al-Hira pumping station Orangi Town, German pumping station and Bewah Colony Pumping station.

MD KWSB on instructed Superintendent Engineer WTM Asif Qadri to ensure the disconnection of these illegal water connections. Following the instructions Asif Qadri along with staff severed 13 illegal connections, taken from main 4 inch diameter pipeline last day in the presence of police and rangers personnel.

The KWSB staff took the material used in illegal connections into their custody and began further legal action.
