KWSB razes two hydrants, cut 10 illegal connections

KARACHI: Karachi Water and Sewerage Board on Tuesday demolished two illegal hydrants and cut 10 illegal connections in Godhra area of North Nazimabad. On the directions of KWSB Managing Director Qutubuddin Shaikh, the KWSB team along with police, local administration and Sindh Assembly members Rehan Zafar and Jamal Ahmed carried out a raid in Godhra area on a tip-off that certain people were involved in stealing water from 48-inch water line.

During the operation, two illegal hydrants belonging to Salim and Waheed were demolished, 10 illegal connections cut and the material confiscated by the KWSB team.

According to KWSB spokesman, the hydrants caused shortage of water in the surrounding area and the action from KWSB would ensure smooth flow of water supply in the area.

He said that KWSB would continue its operation and the next action would be taken in Mochko Goth of Saeedabad on Thursday.
