Lahore: Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has termed the death of 15 minority members at local churches as a national tragedy and most condemnable.

He was talking to the Christian leader Shahid Gulzar and members of the Christian community during his visit to Youhanabad, on Monday. He also visited the Sikhs Gurdwara at Nankana Sahib during the day, and exchanged views with the authorities there.

Liaqat Baloch said that the terrorist attacks at worship places including churches, mosques, madrissahs, and Imambargahs were part of a calculated conspiracy. He said the entire nation stood united against terrorism and the grief of all the citizens was common. He however said that the national unity and harmony would foil all enemy plans.

The JI central leader also urged the high ups implementing the National Action Plan against terrorism and the targeted operation in Karachi to investigate if some internal and external elements wanted to divert the state attention from the Karachi situation through terrorism activities in other parts of the country.

He stressed that the government and the state institutions should proceed against terrorists without compromising on any issue as the whole nation wanted total peace in the country.
