LG polls: Peaceful polling at AhmedpurEast

AhmedpurEast, Punjab: Voters cast their votes to elect their representatives in 35 rural union councils and 41 wards of Municipal Committee AhmedpurEast and 10 wards of Municipal Committee

In ward number 1 of Municipal Committee AhmedpurEast, polling started at 10.30 AM at female polling station Chah Ghlam Rasool Wala due to non availability of election staff, while presiding officer left this polling station at 12 noon.

Ruling party PML-N’sopponent candidates alleged that in some rural areas polling stations were shifted to benefit PML(N) candidates.

Circle police under the supervision of DSP Allahdad Luck had made foolproof arrangements to maintain peace while Army jawans were deployed at all sensitive polling stations.

Regional Police Officer Bahawalpur Ehsan Sadiq and District Police Officer Bahawalpur Sarfraz Ahmed Falki visited AhmedpurEast , Chanigoth and other areas and reviewed security arrangements.

They also checked several police stations and directed DSP Allah Dad and concerned SHOs to ensure maintenance of peace.
