Massive irregularities unearthed in Shahdadpur hospital record

Karachi: Anti-corruption circle officer Sanghar, Mushtaq Ahmed Malik, along with Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Abid Rajput raided Shadadpur Institute of Medical Sciences and seized its records.

The raid was carried out after receiving complaints about corruption committed by the hospital management and other staff which includes recruitment of disqualified persons on bribe and embezzlement in purchase of medicine and machinery.

During the raid, many patients, who came for OPD check-ups, complained that there was shortage of medicine in hospital, lack of basic facilities and overcharging of ambulance services.

While talking to media persons, Mushtaq Ahmed Malik, said that many employees remain absent from duty but were drawing their salaries. He further stated that his team had inspected the record and found many purchases as missing from the record. Once the inspection completes, the report will be sent to chief secretary Sindh, he concluded.
