KARACHI: Senior Vice President of Pakistan Awami Tehreek Dr S M Zameer said on Wednesday that change had become the destination of nation and millions of people would participate in the revolution to get rid of corrupt system.

“Our struggle is for making a welfare state in which all the citizens, without discrimination of race, colour and creed could get immediate and cheap justice, education, safety, bread, cloth, home and health,” he said this while addressing a press conference at Karachi Press Club.

He said after this revolution, corrupt leaders would be held accountable for their misconducts.

Zameer called the 17th June incident of Model Town, Lahore, “the worst incident of the history” and said that it would be revenged from the rulers after the revolution.

He said that PAT was a peaceful party and would remain so in the future also. “We do not intend to derail democracy but to establish it in its true meaning. If anybody tried to take our patriotism as a cowardliness then our hands are also not tied.”

Zameer said the so-called democratic governments had not been able to set up local governments for ten years. They were in reality the enemies of democracy.

He said that PAT workers were not afraid of sacrifices, 53 workers were already jailed in Rawalpindi.

Answering a query, he said that Central leader of PAT Tahir-ul-Qadri would not go back to Canada until his revolution completes.

He also denounced the Israeli atrocities being meted out to the people of Gaza and said that the silence of human rights organizations was a crime.
