Minister: (25 INGOs allowed to operate in Pakistan)

ISLAMABAD: Twenty-five International NGOs have been allowed to operate in Pakistan. The decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan here. The Minister said the new policy is aimed at facilitating INGOs and making the entire system more transparent and work-friendly.

He said the Interior Ministry is ready to assist the provinces in putting in place similar mechanism for the registration of NGOs. The meeting also reviewed progress on Safe City Project.

The Interior Minister was apprised that successful execution of the Project and its effectiveness vis-a-vis curbing crime and traffic management would enable this model to be replicated in all major cities of the country.
