KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Kutchi Abadis Javed Nagori on Friday called for action against encroachment in slum areas and directed officials to take stern action without accepting any pressure.
The minister expressed these views while chairing a meeting at his office which was also attended by Secretary Katchi Abadis Pervez Junejo, Director General Kashif Gulzar Shaikh, Director Finance Javed Khan and Director Karachi Division Imdad Ali Lashari.
Nagori directed department officials to remove illegal encroachments from Mauripur and other slum areas in the city.
He directed officials to give ownership rights to residents of Khawaja Ajmer Nagri-North Karachi, Bismillah Colony, Muslim League Colony Landhi, Gulzar Colony and Bilalabad-Korangi. He also directed them to set up lease camps in the areas and ensure free and fair distribution of leased plots to the residents.
The minister also discussed issues regarding recovery status in special initiatives department, preparations of next budget. He called directors of five divisions to achieve their target and submit development schemes for the next year.
