QUETTA: National Action Plan and Operation Zarb e Azb by Pakistan Army was being implemented successfully for the elimination of terrorism and extremism in the country and it is well supported by people, Media and politicians while entire nation is at one page. World has also fully supported Operation Zarb Azb.
This was stated by former Governor Sindh and former Interior Minister Lt General (R ) Moinuddin Hyder while addressing trainee officers at National Institute of Management on the reasons for extremism in Pakistan here Tuesday.
Moinudidn Hyder said Pakistan came into existence after supreme sacrifices and bloodshed. Muslims faced major challenges then and unfortunately Quaid e Azam departed earlier. He said India was engaged inc conspiracies against Pakistan from day one.
He said invasion of Soviet Union forces and American attack on Afghanistan after 9/11 deteriorated the situation very badly. Millions of Afghan refugees came to Pakistan and brought gift of extremism with them. He said thousands of innocent people died in bomb explosion and suicide attacks in acts of extremism and terrorism. He eyes of people opened following attack of terrorists at Army Public School and killing of dozens of students in Peshawar. In response Operation Zarb e Azb was launched.
He said people should fully support army for the elimination of terrorism from the country. He said super powers always took benefit from the weaknesses fo Pakistan to control it and pitched people owing to their wrong propaganda in the name of religion. He also urged need for reform and registration of madaris in the country.
Moinudidn Hyder said big powers were trying to pitch Muslims with each other. Innocent people were being killed in Libya, Syrian, Iraq and Yemen. It is regretted that people from these countries were in search of shelter while Islamic countries have closed their borders for them. On the other hand Italy, Germany and other countries have opend their borders to provide them refuges.
Answering a question about backwardness and sense of deprivation of Balochistan former Sindh Governor said province was provided massive money under NFC Award during previous regime. Unfortunately this money aimed at to be sent on progress and prosperity of the province went to the pockets of members of provincial assembly.
He said we all have to work jointly for progress and prosperity of Balochistan and further disputes should be avoided. Time for lip service is over now. Instead of wasting time practical steps should be taken.
