MQM holds demo in front of White House

KARACHI: A protest demonstration was held in front of White House by the MQM America against the state sponsored operation against Mohajirs in Karachi.

According to a release by MQM, the protest demonstration was led by the members of Central Committee of MQM America, Chapter In-charge Faisal Usman and attended by Chapter Committee members, MQM leaders, workers supporters including a big number of elders, women and children. They chanted slogans in favour of MQM leader Altaf Hussain, and equal rights for Mohajirs.

They also appealed to the US government to play its role in stopping the ‘genocide’ of Mohajir community.

Those who made speeches on the occasion said that today’s protest has been organized to attract the attention of the people of United States of America and other communities of the world towards the miserable condition of Mohajir community due to the state sponsored atrocities.

They appealed to US President Barack Obama, members of American Senate and Congress to use their good offices with a view to compelling the Government of Pakistan to stop the ongoing operation against Mohajirs in Karachi.

They vowed not to compromise on their struggle for the rights of Mohajirs.

Later the protestors prayed for the health of party leader Altaf Hussain, souls of those martyred during the struggle for Mohajir cause and the better future of Mohajir Community.
