KARACHI: Leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Rabita Committee Farooq Sattar on Tuesday strongly condemned federal ministers Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Khuwaja Asif for their statements against MQM leader Altaf Hussain.

Addressing a rally outside the Karachi Press Club he said for 37 years some elements are trying to create distance between Altaf Husain and his followers. He said FIRs lodged against Altaf Husain are against the constitution and law.

He said they have always supported the Karachi operation and elimination of terrorism from the country, adding the operation should be only against the criminal elements.

He said Karachi generates more than 70% of revenue for country but unfortunately this city had been deprived of basic necessities as more than 1200 people died in recent heat wave while the minister for water and power did not care to visit the city. He asked Prime Minister Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif to do justice with them.

MQM Rabita Committee member Qamar Mansoor said whole country is being provoked against MQM. He asked why Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PLM-N) did not take action on Asif Ali Zardari’s provocative speech.

Rauf Siddiqui said that two percent of elite had held hostage 90% of people of Pakistan. He said they are patriotic citizens and they don’t need any certificate for their patriotism.
