KARACHI: The MQM Coordination Committee, Senators and Parliamentarians sent separate letters to British Prime Minister David Cameroon, UK Home Secretary and other government officials, including Scotland Yard Chief, demanding provision of adequate security measures to their party Chief Altaf Hussain after receiving a life-threat from Taliban.

In a statement issued regarding current scenario, they expressed their grave concern over the security issues of their party chief. They said, “MQM is a liberal and enlightened political party and is thoughtfully against any of the terrorism and extremism, including religious fundamentalism.”

The MQM leaders stated that Hussain kept condemning the religious prejudices and other extremism, and always raised his voice against the terrorism. His unchanged stance regarding extremists’ outfits and religious fundamentalists has caused him serious life threats, they said.

Recently MQM Chief and other party leaders had received serious life threats from Tehreek-e-Taliban which have raised concerns to millions of his followers and workers. They also appealed to the Prime Minister David Cameroon and other UK officials to provide Hussain sufficient security to cope any miscreant attempt.
