NA: (Measures being taken for clean environment in federal capital: NA told)

ISLAMABAD: Replying to a call attention notice in the National Assembly regarding non-availability of facilities in all hospitals in Islamabad to dispose of their waste resulting in spread of various diseases, Parliamentary Secretary for Cabinet Secretariat Raja Javed Ikhlas told the House on Tuesday that waste of public sector hospitals is being disposed of properly.

He said measures are being taken to provide a clean environment to the federal capital. Five private members bills were introduced in the National Assembly on Tuesday.

These are “The Right to free and Compulsory Physical Education and Training Bill, 2015”, “The Code of Criminal Procedure (Amendment) Bill, 2015”, “The Right to Compulsory Education and Training in the field of Information Technology Bill, 2015”, “The Pakistan Army (Second Amendment) Bill, 2015” and “The National Commission for Minority Education Bill, 2015”.

The chair referred the bills to the Standing Committees concerned. Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Shaikh Aftab Ahmad informed the House that a code of conduct for media has been prepared. He was winding up discussion on the situation arising out of non-existence of code of conduct for media. He said the apex court has approved the code of conduct and now it is the responsibility of PEMRA to implement it.

Minister for States and Frontier Regions Abdul Qadir Baloch said it is the responsibility of the state to provide protection to every citizens of the country. He said as a result of operation Zarb-e-Azb the law and order situation is improving in the country. The House will now meet today (Wednesday).
