NA: (NA Committee on Housing and Works meets)

ISLAMABAD: The Standing Committee on Housing and Works met here in Committee Room of PIPS, Parliament Lodges, under the Chairmanship of Haji Mohammad Akram Ansari, MNA.

The Committee expressed grave concern over the issue of illegal occupants of government accommodations and directed that Ministry of Housing and Works may take stringent measures to vacate government accommodations from illegal occupants at the earliest.

The Committee directed that Ministry may take stern action against Estate Office employees who support the illegal occupants through different means and report to the Committee in its next meeting.

The Committee agreed in principle with the view point of the Federal Minister for Housing and Works that Estate Office could not handle the issue of illegal occupants lonely until the powers of magistrate be re-delegated to Estate Officer which was withdrawn in 2012.

The Committee decided to take up the issue at appropriate forum so that the government accommodations could be retrieved at the earliest.

The Committee discussed the projects of Dualization and Improvement of Mandra-Chakwal Road, Sohawa-Chakwal Road and Mosa Khail Tounsa Road Strength Road Zhob and directed that Housing and Works Ministry that it may direct the quarter concerned to take effective measures to complete the projects at the earliest.

Besides Akram Khan Durrani, Federal Minister for Housing and Works the MNAs including Rajab Ali Khan Baloch, Rana Zahid Hussain Khan, Ghulam Mohammad Lali, Ms. Tahira Aurangzeb, Ms. Khalida Mansoor, Faqir Sher Mohammad Bilalani, Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Molana Ameer Zaman and Abdul Rahim Khan Mandokhail attended the meeting.
