National Defense University team visits FPCCI

KARACHI: A delegation of more than 100 participants from National Defense University Islamabad led by R ADM Moazzam Ilyas, IH (M) visited Federation House, Karachi as part of their study tour.

The delegation comprised of senior civil, military and trainee officers from friendly countries, who were welcomed by Zakaria Usman, President FPCCI, Shaukat Ahmed, Sr Vice President and Vice Presidents of FPCCI Ismail Suttar, Mazhar Ali Nasir, Khurram Sayeed and Sheikh Imtiaz.

While welcoming the participants, Usman briefed them about the activities and role of FPCCI in the Pakistan’s economy and also gave an overview of recent economic performance. He informed that FPCCI had first time submitted a shadow budget to the government which was almost same as of the government’s announced budget in terms of revenue and expenditures. However, we stressed on keeping the GST to 5% on uniform basis to encourage the taxpayers to pay the taxes and assured the government that this would not affect the revenue target of the government.
