Nawab Bahadur Yar Jung remembered

Karachi: Rich tributes were paid to the distinguished leader and great orator of the subcontinent, Nawab Bahadur Yar Jung in a seminar held by Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology in collaboration with Bahadur Yar Jung Academy at his death anniversary.

Engr. Muhammad Adil Usman, Chancellor Sir Syed University, in his presidential address said that Nawab Bahadur Yar Jung was unique and the most sought after speaker in the Muslim League camp. His was the voice that had inspired millions of people to support Muslim League and vote for the League in the bye-elections in Muslim constituencies.

Lauding the efforts of Nawab Bahadur Yar Jang, he pointed out that Nawab Bahadur Yar Jung was multidimensional personality and devoted all his life to the renaissance of Muslims’’ sovereignty. He is undoubtedly the great asset of our national history and culture.

Chancellor Muhammad Adil Usman said Nawab Bahadur Yar Jung was an important leader of Independence Movement who paved way for the formation of Pakistan. He was very close to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Quaid himself had declared him his successor.

Speaking on the occasion, Professor Mir Hamid Ali, President Bahadur Yar Jung Academy, said that Nawab Bahadur Yar Jung had a unique quality of doing on-the-spot extempore translation of Quaid’s speeches in Urdu. He was the most sought-after speaker in Urdu and had the honour to give speech before Quaid’s.

Renowned writer Prof. Dr. Taher Masood said we although worship our heroes, yet reluctant to adopt their good qualities. Education expert Professor Haroon Rasheed said Nawab Bahadur Yar Jung touched the point of end of his political and practical life at the very young age when others start their career.

Noted religious scholar Shah Misbahuddin Shakeel and Khawaja Qutubuddin, General Secretary Bahadur Yar Jung Academy, also spoke on the occasion, while former Director of Quaid e Azam Academy Khwaja Razi Haider conducted the event.
