Need stressed to gather data of environment-related stakeholders

KARACHI: Minister for Parliamentary Affairs & Environment Dr. Sikander Mandhro directed environmental department on Tuesday to compile the data of all organizations, vicinities, and stakeholders which are relayed to environment.

In a meeting presided over by him in his office at Sindh assembly building, he directed the officers to submit complete data of these stockholders before the month of October.

While giving instructions to officers, he also asked that the concerned organization be contacted via letters regarding environmental issues, including factories, industries, workshops, hospitals, ports, municipal departments, construction plots, petrol & CNG pumps, vegetable & fruit markets, transporters, and all other stakeholders. He further urged that the organizations should also be made aware of pollution preventative strategies.

On the occasion, he said that all monitoring teams be made functional in order for collecting data within the planned timeframe and urged that all stakeholders should be asked to implement the related laws. Moreover, he said that licenses would be issued to all environmental law obeying stakeholders, while, implementation of relevant laws and regulations would be promoted. Meanwhile, he also sought support of NGO sector and media in this regard.
