New AHF CEO vows to bring int’l action to Pakistan

Karachi: Pakistan based Tayyab Ikram, who has recently been appointed as the Chief Executive of Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) on Tuesday said that he will do his level best in his new capacity to bring international action back to Pakistan.

Tayyab has become the first Pakistani to become the chief executive officer of AHF.

“I feel it my moral responsibility to bring international tournaments back to Pakistan. As chief executive of the Asian body I will play my role effectively to bring international events in Pakistan”, Tayyab promised.

Tayyab added that there has already been a general realization in the hockey fraternity throughout the world that Pakistan hockey should stand on its feet.

“I assure that the world hockey community is committed to revive international hockey in Pakistan”, Tayyab said.

He said that Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) should improve domestic competition by organizing national level tournaments both at the junior and senior levels. He added that besides revival of international hockey it was also his task to uplift the game in Pakistan.

Tayyab further said that the government to issue much needed grant to the federation, which PHF needs to carry out domestic and international hockey activities.
