KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Food Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar on Tuesday said that Pakistan is passing through a critical juncture and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) would not allow any adventurer to derail democracy through agitation.

Talking to media at his office on Tuesday, Dahar said that anti democracy forces wanted to push the country back into the dark era of dictatorship but PPP would not permit any one to do so, because PPP had rendered great sacrifices by struggling against dictators for more than two decades.

He said that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto and PPP workers had laid down their lives for the cause of the democracy in the country. The minister expressed serious concern over political situation in the country and said the issues should be resolved tactfully and should not be lingered on towards confrontation.

Dahar was the opinion that the federal government advisors were incapable of handling situation and Prime Minister should get rid of them. “PPP believes in democratic norms and will always work in the interests of the country and the masses as well,” he concluded.
