KARACHI: “There is no doubt over minorities’ loyalty and love for the country. They have been rendering remarkable services, specially, in the fields of medical and education,” said Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui on Monday.

He, while addressing a meeting with the delegation of a minority community headed by President Justice Helpline (JH) Nadeem Sheikh Advocate, said resolving security and civic issues of the minorities was government’s first priority. Their services were unforgettable for the prosperity and progress of the country.

Senior Vice President JH Atam Parakash, Saleem Michael Advocate and other leaders were also present.

The commissioner was briefed about the issues being encountered by YMCA, Marri Mata Mandir and Hindu Gymkhana. The delegation also requested that keeping in view the services of late justice retired Bhagwan Das, a road or park should be named after him.

Siddiqui ensured full cooperation for minorities from himself and the government and said good governance was for every Pakistani without any discrimination of minority or majority.

“The government does the same arrangements for minorities on special religious and other occasions as for majorities,” he said.

The delegation thanked the commissioner for assurance of steps in their favor and assured their full cooperation with the government.
