NAUNDERO: Government Hospital, Naundero, where 15 doctors are posted & most of them remain absent, has become useless for the fire arm or road accident injured patients needing emergency treatment & operation to save their precious lives, poor people have complained to Journalists.

The civil work of the first floor of the hospital has not yet been completed despite passage of three years. Poor people from as many as 200 nearby villages including riverine areas visit this hosptial to get medical treatment but in return empty-handed. They have to procure drugs/medicines from their own pocket that’s why rush is always witnessed at private clinics of qualified doctors as well as quacks.

This hospital at the very outset consisted of 16 beds but new 100-bed hospital was built which is still incomplete. Worst affected are the poor who cannot bear the costs of costly medicines hence are forced to remain on hospital beds or shift to Larkana, 25 kilometres away, if their earning allow them.

Many injured patients have died on way to Larkana before getting any management or treatment at this hospital record of which is not being disclosed to Media as how many have lost their lives due to non-availability of required emergency treatment facilities which were approved in the PC-1.

Recently a photo uploaded on a social media site showed that a donkey cart was fastened outside the hospital building. MS of the Hospital Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Khuhro conceded that building shown in the photo is of the hospital but it has been edited using computer skills and showing donkey cart near the building. He did not respond when he was asked about the issues faced by the hospital.

Meanwhile, recently Larkana Deputy Commissioner had announced to start a crackdown against quacks in the district but nothing has so far been done which also need be eliminated for the sake of the public otherwise deadly diseases will continue to rise.
