ISLAMABAD: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 50% Pakistanis opine that if Afghan refugees (currently living in Pakistan) request the Pakistani government to continue to live here, they should not be granted permission.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “If some Afghan refugees [currently living in Pakistan] request to remain in Pakistan, do you think the Pakistani government should allow them to stay here or not?”

In response to this question 32% Pakistanis said that Afghan refugees should be allowed to stay in Pakistan while 50% said that they should not be allowed and 18% did not respond.
