OT to be made functional in skin hospital

KARACHI: Operation Theater (OT) will be made operational in Sindh Institute of Skin Diseases (SISD) soon to conduct minor surgical operations and plastic surgeries; said Director SISD Dr Jamil Ahmed Siddiqui on Monday.

He said a plan is under way to make the closed operation theater of SISD functional to carry out minor surgical operations and plastic surgeries. He said hospital administration has approached Professor of Plastic Surgery Prof Ashraf Ganatra of Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) for training of doctors to perform minor surgeries. He said Prof Ashraf will perform plastic surgeries in healthcare as a visiting surgeon.

He informed that Prof Ashraf has also accepted hospital administration’s request and now a letter is sent to Vice Chancellor DUHS for approval. He hoped that surgeries of skin, warts and other minor operations will commence in the largest skincare institution of Sindh province very soon.

He informed that new air conditioners have been installed in male and female wards of Skin Hospital. He said a green belt will be set up in the institution soon to provide a better atmosphere to patients and their attendants.
