Pak team leaves for Davis Cup tie against Thailand

Karachi: Pakistan Davis Cup team left for Bangkok, Thailand to play Davis Cup Asia Oceania Group II final against Thailand from September 12-14. Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) has sent the team six days prior to the beginning of the tie against host Thailand in order to give ample time for its players to acclimatize themselves to Thailand’s weather before the event begins.

Pakistan’s tennis ace Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi has already reached Bangkok Saturday morning. Mohammad Khalid will be the non-playing captain while Aqeel Khan is also expected to put some good performances. Mohammad Abid and Yasir Khan are the other players included in the team.

Samir Iftikhar is also accompanying the team and will play matches against Yasir Khan and Mohammad Abid and if he beats them then he will be considered for the important event.
