Pakistanis have mixed preferences for pastimes on Eid,Poll

Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 45% Pakistanis like to meet friends or family on Eid; 24% enjoy staying at home.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women, from across the four provinces was asked, “Different people like different activities during Eid holidays, such as, going for an outing, meeting friends and family or staying at home etc.

What do you like to do on Eid?” In response, 45% respondents said they like meeting friends or family on Eid day and 30% respondents said they like going for an outing. On the other hand, 24% respondents prefer to stay at home and 1% did not respond.

The study was released by Gilani Research Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.

The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2514 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during October 13 – October 20, 2014. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
