Pakistan’s Liquid Foreign Reserves Position

Karachi: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Thursday said the total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at US$20,450.9 million on 04December2015.The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under:-

i) Foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan: US$ 15,441.4 million

ii) Net foreign reserves held by banks : US$ 5,009.5 million

iii) Total liquid foreign reserves : US$ 20,450.9 million

During the week ending 04December2015, SBP’s Liquid FX Reserves increased by US$654 million to US$15,441 million, compared to US$14,787 million in the previous week.

During the week SBP received US$ 918 million from multilateral, bilateral and other official sources, which include US$ 500 million received from World Bank and US$400 million received from Asian Development Bank. During the week, SBP made payments of US$270 million on account of external debt servicing.
