LARKANA: Pakistan Paramedical Staff Association, Chandka Medical College Hospital Larkana, boycotted all OPDs on Wednesday since morning including Main OPD of Civil Hospital, Eye OPD, Urology OPD, Shaikh Zayed Hospital for Women OPD and Paeds Medicine OPD, held protest demonstration and chanted slogans for acceptance of their demands for the second day of their struggle to get the Burns Ward vacated from another paramedics shadow association.

Due to non-availability of working paramedical staff, patients suffered trouble. All laboratories, radiological x-rays, ultrasounds, telephone exchange, main medical store also remained locked for three hours up to 11.00 am. Worst affected were medico-legal cases brought from jails.

While talking to reporters, Shahi Khan Jagirani, Zulfiqar Sahto, Ali Nawaz Narejo, Ghulam Hussain Langah, Mustafa Kalhoro and others said that the Medical Superintendent CMCH had informed the district administration a month ago that some employees of CMCH having support of ruling politicians had formed another parallel paramedics association in the name of Peoples Paramedical Staff Association in CMCH which is a shadow paramedics association despite holding elections on May 16, 2015 in which the employees elected their leaders.

They say it seems the government itself wants to destroy peaceful atmosphere the hospital. They said that the so-called association leaders had forcibly occupied Burns Ward and had established their office in it, but district administration had done nothing to get it vacated. They urged the higher authorities to take notice of this highhandedness forthwith and get the occupied burns ward vacated within 24 hours or else, they warned, they will enlarge the scope of their protest.
