Paramedics to hold demo on 18thAugust 15, 2014
Karachi: Paramedical organizations of Sindh under the banner of Paramedical Staff Joint Action Committee Sindh have decided to launch a protest campaign throughout Sindh province in favour of their demands and they would hold a big protest demonstration on 18th August 2014 at Karachi Press Club in the first phase.
Information Secretary, All Sindh Peoples Paramedical Staff Welfare Association Sindh, Liaquat Mastoi said paramedical organizations have been demanding for inclusion of those categories of paramedical staff in service structure which were left out earlier. They also demand health allowance, high-risk allowance, rural initiative allowance for Sindh paramedics on the pattern of federal and three other provinces, but their demands could not fulfil yet by the provincial authorities.
He said provincial government was not implementing on ‘son quota’ in Sindh as 700 cases have been pending in this regard. He said different paramedical organizations have decided to launch comprehensive protest demonstration across the province for indefinite time. He said in the first phase paramedics would stage a protest demonstration and sit in for indefinite time on 18th August 2014 at Karachi Press Club.
He informed that office-bearers of Sindh Paramedical Staff Welfare Association (SPSWA), Pakistan Paramedical Staff Association (PPMSA) Mumtaz Jatoi Group, All Sindh Peoples Paramedical Staff Welfare Association Sindh, Functional League Paramedical Staff Association and Medical AID Committee have assured their support and will also take part in the protest.
Patron-in-Chief Sindh Paramedical Staff Welfare Association (SPSWA) Ikhlaq Ahmed Khan said paramedics from different cities and towns of the province will participate in mass protest demonstration scheduled on 18th.He informed that paramedical organizations in the next phase will boycott duties throughout the Sindh province from 25th August 2014.
They demanded of the provincial government to include the categories of paramedical staff service structure which were left out earlier and also add health allowance, high-risk allowance and rural initiative allowance in their salaries. They further demanded for implementation of son quota recruitment in the health department.
