Karachi: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has disowned the tour of national cricket team of Greece, which has arrived in Pakistan for a few friendly games.

“We would have entertained the team had we been taken on board from the beginning. We have to follow SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) when some foreign team visits Pakistan. We have to take on board every stake holder when we host a foreign team,” a source in the board told.

He added that Greece team is in Sialkot and playing some friendly unofficial games.

Meanwhile, PCB issued a press release disowning the tour. It said that this is an unofficial and private tour and PCB is no way involved with it.

“PCB’s support was sought for the tour, but with the relevant government clearances promised by the team not forthcoming, the Board had declined to support the tour. This was informed to the Greece cricket authorities well in advance of the team embarking on its journey to Pakistan,” the release added.

“The PCB therefore does not take any responsibility of any arrangements, including security, accommodation, transportation, availability of venues, opposition teams etc., with regard to this unofficial tour,” it added.
