PCG seize 290-kg hashish

KARACHI: Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) officials seized huge quantity of Hashish from Stadium Road near Gwadar (Balochistan).

PCG officials received information from intelligence sources about the smuggling of narcotics in general area Nigore near Airport Gwadar.

Special Mobile team was detailed for snap checking. During checking, PCG mobile team spotted a suspicious vehicle. On seeing the PCG officials, smugglers opened fire that was returned by the PCG officials.

After exchange of fire, the traffickers managed to flee taking advantage of darkness and terrain, leaving the vehicle with 290 kilograms of fine quality of Hashish.

The Hashish was recovered by PCG official from the hidden cavities of the vehicle. Approx value of the Hashish in international market is US $ 4.35million.

Further investigation and legal process is under way.
