Pharmacists and Drug Inspectors play a pivotal role in health-care delivery systemDecember 16, 2015
Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Finance Muzaffar Syed Advocate, while appreciating the services of Pharmacists, for the ailing humanity has said that Pharmacists and Drug Inspectors play a pivotal role in health-care delivery system and that is why Government will pay due attention towards solution of their problems to provide them relaxed working environment.
This, he said, while chairing a meeting convened to discuss problems faced by Pharmacists, working in the public sector hospitals of the Province. Beside others, Javed Mohammad, President Pakistan Pharmacists Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, General Secretary Ihsanullah, Finance Secretary Imran Ullah Khan, Mohammad Ibrahim, Inamul Haq and Rashid Munir were also present on the occasion.
President of the Association, Javed Mohammad apprised the Minister of the problems hindering working condition of the Pharmacists serving in public sector and demanded proper solution for its removal. He demanded professional allowance for the Pharmacists working in hospitals, Drug Control Administration and Drug Testing Laboratory on the analogy of professional allowance being paid to Medical professionals by the Federal Government and the Govt: of Baluchistan.
The Association also demanded of the Minister to implement decision of the Supreme Court of Pakistan for creating posts of Pharmacist for each fifty beds in District Headquarters Hospitals as already done at Teaching Hospitals of the Province.
Similarly, creation of posts for the Drug Inspectors at Tehsil level Hospital on the pattern of Punjab Government was also demanded to curb the menace of spurious, adulterated drugs and check sale of unauthorized medicine effectively. The Association also requested the Finance Minister to create additional post of Pharmacist and Drug Inspector.
Responding to the demands presented by the Pharmacists Association, Muzaffar Syed Advocate directed to put forth proper justification for creation of the additional posts linking at with output and proper rationale.
The Minister also directed to continue efforts to solve the problems faced by the Pharmacists to pave way for providing favourable working condition to them to make the health delivery system more efficient. The Association paid thanks to the Minister for sympathetic consideration of their problems.
