Plastic bags in KP to be completely ban after three months

Peshawar: A meeting of the committee constituted by the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa regarding imposition of ban on the manufacturing and marketing of plastic shopping bags, MPA Shaukat Ali Yousafzai while presiding over the meeting of the committee said that a complete ban will be imposed on plastic shopping bags after three months for the eradication of environmental pollution while the manufacturing traders being given six month time frame in order to finish their existing stocks and raw material.

On this occasion, Mohammad Naeem, Secretary Irrigation, Fakhre Alam Commissioner Peshawar, Department of Local Government, Environment, Forest, Industry, Law, Frontier Chamber of Commerce and various trade leaders attended the meeting.

Shaukat Yousafzai while addressing the meeting said that this country belong to all of us and we do not want to make anyone unemployed we want to eradicate the causes of environmental pollution through proper strategy. We were giving proper attention to provide a clean neat and pleasant environment to the people of this province.

He said that Chief Minister Pervez Khattak was taking sincere steps for the beautification of Peshawar. He also warned the officials of WSSP and MSP companies that they should ensure the cleanliness of Peshawar city otherwise stern action will be taken against them.
