PM congratulates Pakistan’s cricket team on winning first test match against Sri Lanka

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif has congratulated Pakistan’s cricket team on convincingly defeating Sri Lanka in first test match of the series.

In his message on Sunday, he particularly appreciated Yasir Shah’s performance and hoped the team would continue its good form in the remaining fixtures of the series.

Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by 10 wickets in the first test of the three match series in Galle today. Sri Lanka had set a victory target of ninety runs for Pakistan on the fifth and final day. Pakistan achieved the target without any loss.

Wicket keeper batsman Sarfaraz Ahmad was declared Man of the match for his all-round performance. Spin bowler Yasir Shah played a vital role in the victory with his nine wickets haul in the test.
