ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that the government plans to build a host of small and big hydropower projects to address the issue of electricity shortage.
Inaugurating 102 megawatt of Gulpur power plant on Poonch river at Kotli in Azad Kashmir on Thursday, he invited the foreign investors to invest in the mega projects of Diamer Bhasha and Dasu Dams which will add about 9, 000 megawatt of electricity to the national grid.
Earlier, Prime Minister performed ground breaking of Gulpur power plant which will be completed in four years at a cost of $ 320 million. Korean investors will inject up to 25 percent funds in the project while the remaining will be provided by different banks.
