Talking to newsmen, Shahid Jawed Qureshi said that PMFA has been participating in this regular event for the last many years which resulted in materialization of several joint ventures and trade deals between the two countries. He praised the efforts of the Consul General of Malaysia in Pakistan for extending maximum cooperation to PMFA in promoting the two-way trade.

The President PMFA further informed about the recent visit of Malaysian Trade Commissioner, based in New Delhi to Karachi this month, during which mattes of promoting and further strengthening trade relations between the two countries came under discussion.

Abubakar Mamat, Consul General, Malaysia at Karachi is taking keen interest in encouraging the Pakistani businessmen to actively participate in INTRADE-14 Exhibition at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia so that the two way trade could be promoted and the present trade imbalance between the two countries could be narrow down.

It was informed that a large delegation comprising of more than fifty Malaysian businessmen and investors was to visit Karachi in October to participate in the Expo Pakistan 2014, however due to the postponement of this mega event in view of current disturbed political scenario in the country and disinterest of foreign delegations to visit Pakistan in this situation, this excellent opportunity has been lost. He hoped that the situation improves so that the Expo Pakistan event could be re-scheduled within shortest possible time.
