PN launches flood rescue operation; many saved

Islamabad: Pakistan Navy is determined to extend all out assistance to civil administration in expressing empathy and solidarity with flood affected people.

In response to recent floods in various parts of Punjab, Pakistan Navy has launched flood relief operation, especially in flood affected areas of Chiniot and Jhang districts to provide support to the flood affectees.

Pakistan Navy flood relief teams equipped with requisite gear and expertise including helicopter, zulu boats and specialist divers are conducting the rescue operation.

Pakistan Navy Rescue teams are also supported by medical staff to provide first aid to the affectees. PN flood relief teams in coordination with civil administration are evacuating the people stranded in flood hit areas of Hasra Sheikh Village, Pango Morr and Bhawana near Chiniot. A large number of affectees have been rescued and shifted to safe places.

Pakistan Navy is also in process of deploying its rescue teams at Sukkur and adjoining areas in anticipation of flood hitting the areas of interior Sindh.

Deeply concerned with the devastation caused by recent floods, Pakistan Navy stands shoulder to shoulder with all the national organizations in order to provide rescue and relief to people in the flood affected areas.
