Karachi: Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) Monday clarified it has been lifting the cargoes on time as and when advised by the PSO and other clients.

Despite frequent changes in the lifting dates by PSO and delays on part of the suppliers due to letter of credit and documentation issues, PNSC continued to perform by meeting all the requirements of PSO. As a consequence in Year 2014, PNSC lifted 87 shipments of fuel oil and 34 MOGAS shipments all well within time. The huge amount on demurrage around Rs 934,966,927 testifies PNSC stance of providing vessels on time.

In the national interest, PNSC continued and is continuing to support PSO despite Rs 1,073,013,994(1 Billion ) outstanding freight due on PSO.

PNSC has successfully lifted cargoes of refineries  and BYCO as per their schedule.

PNSC strongly dispels impression that it is allegedly delaying the vessels due to non revision of freights rate by PSO and also clarifies that the court order of 03rd January 2014 does not restrict PSO from revision of rates, it rather stipulates to continue as per COA and ECC decision.

PNSC in the year 2014 has lifted following quantities of cargo for PSO.

(i)           1,741,448 Mts of MOGAS in 34 Voyages.

(ii)         5,819,528 Mts of Fuel Oil in 87 Voyages.
