Police claim arresting five target killers

KARACHI: Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Karachi Ghulam Qadir Thebo on Tuesday said five target killers had been arrested in the city. Addressing a press conference at CPO office, he said the arrested target killers were involved in various killings of people, including political activists and policemen.

AIGP said that probe into attack on Navy dockyard was being carried out by the Navy itself. He said that over 200 target killers had been killed in targeted operations in Karachi within three months. He said investigation into Dr Shakeel Auj’s murder was also underway. He said various evidences had been discovered in Dr. Auj’s murder which could be helpful in tracing the culprits.

The AIG maintained that implementation of code of conduct for Eidul Azha would be implemented. He said consideration for imposing ban on pillion riding ahead of Eid in the city was also underway.
