Police decide to transfer high profile cases to military courts

LARKANA: Police has decided to transfer two high profile criminal cases of heinous nature from anti-terrorism courts to military courts, reliable sources said on Monday.

The sources in police said that the two cases were pertaining to killing of two kids in 2012 and 2014. In this connection, the district police has sent its recommendation to the Sindh Inspector General of Police through DIG Larkana zone for approval and transfer of these cases.

These cases include murder of five-year girl Sindhu Soomro and three-year Aamir Jatoi involving kidnapping, torture and murder of the girl and kidnapping for ransom & murder case of teen aged boy respectively.

These sources further said that the SSP Kamran Nawaz sent the recommendation to the Sindh IGP through DIG Police Larkana. The five-year-old girl was kidnapped by three suspects who subjected her to criminal assault before killing her. The body was found dumped in a house located in Yar Mohammed Kalhoro Colony on Dec 27, 2014. The case is currently under trial at an anti-terrorism court and the three suspects were in judicial custody. Sindh High Court Circuit Court Larkana also took suo moto notice of this case.

Three-year-old Aamir Jatoi was kidnapped for ransom in Shaikh Zayed Colony and his body was found on March 13, 2012. Five suspects arrested in the case are in the Larkana Central Prison and facing a trial in a Karachi’s anti-terrorism court.
