Polio vaccination plan in Larkana reviewed

Larkana: District Committee constituted for eradication of Polio meeting was held here on Thursday under the chairmanship of Larkana district Deputy Commissioner Ghanwar Laghari.

District Health Officer Dr. Khalilullah Shaikh while giving the briefing informed the participants that there are 24282 babies from their birth date to six months age and six months to five years age children are 205048 hence total children up to 5-years age are 229330 who will be vaccinated anti-polio drops during next campaign which will start from 29th September to 02nd October 2014 in entire Larkana district.

He further said that 596 total teams will be in the field for this purpose, 78 fixed points and 46 transit points will also be available for the same purpose, he added, in all 720 teams will be administering anti polio drops to the children.

DC Laghari said on the occasion that polio is a very dangerous viral disease and this campaign must be vigorously made so that no child is left behind.

DC further informed the meeting that an awareness rally will be taken out which will be led by him on 26th September which will start from old DHO office and will terminate at Larkana Press Club.
