KARACHI: All Pakistan Organization of Small Trade & Cottage Industry (APOST&CI) Karachi chapter President Mehmood Hamid on Thursday filed his nomination papers in District Central Karachi for election as general member in local government election.

He submitted his nomination papers in the office of the Assistant Commissioner District Central Sumera Hussain.

Later, Hamid in a statement demanded that free and fair elections should be ensured to end frustration amongst public. He said in the previous regime Karachi faced terrorism, extortion and unrest and the allocated budget of development of Karachi was looted by the corruption mafia of Sindh with both hands. He asserted that Karachi could only be changed through free and transparent elections.

He said Ex Mayor of Karachi Abdul Sattar Afghani, and Ex City Nazim Naimatullah Khan had shown that the conditions of Karachi could be changed provided there is a will. He said “We need same passion to change the fortune of Karachiites and make Karachi the city of lights.”
