Position of Indus River’s flows

LAHORE: The position of the river inflows and outflows at Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma along with the reservoirs levels and the barrages today is as under:

Rivers: Indus at Tarbela: Inflows 50500 cusecs and Outflows 70000 cusecs, Kabul at Nowshera: Inflows 12300 cusecs and Outflows 12300 cusecs, Jhelum at Mangla: Inflows 20700 cusecs and Outflows 30000 cusecs, Chenab at Marala: Inflows 20700 cusecs and Outflows 9000 cusecs.

Barrages: Jinnah: Inflows 74700 cusecs and Outflows 66700 cusecs, Chashma: Inflows 101300 cusecs and Outflows 90000 cusecs, Taunsa: Inflows 87800 cusecs and Outflows 68500 cusecs, Panjnad: Inflows 62400 cusecs and Outflows 47400 cusecs, Guddu: Inflows 130400 cusecs and Outflows 106600 cusecs, Sukkur: Inflows 106800 cusecs and Outflows 53200 cusecs, Kotri: Inflows 26400 cusecs and Outflows Nil cusecs.

Tarbela: Minimum operating level 1380 feet, present level 1502.95 feet, maximum conservation level 1550 feet, live storage today 3.939 million acre feet (MAF).

Mangla: Minimum operating level 1040 feet, present level 1228.15 feet, maximum conservation level 1242 feet, live storage today 6.332 MAF. Chashma: Minimum operating level 637 feet, present level 646.10 feet, maximum conservation level 649 feet, live storage today 0.170 MAF.

The inflows and outflows of River Indus at Tarbela and Chashma, River Kabul at Nowshera and River Jhelum at Mangla have been reflected as mean flows of 24 hours, whereas the other flows have been gauged at 6.00 a.m.
