Power: (Rs 52b allocated for Dasu Hydropower Project)

ISLAMABAD: The government is focusing on developing additional resources of energy to overcome energy shortage in the country and for this purpose it will invest Rs 248 billion on different power projects during the next financial year.

According to senior officials, Rs 52 billion have been allocated for Stage 1 of Dasu Hydropower Project which will produce 2160 MW of electricity, Rs 21 billion have been earmarked for land acquisition and construction of Lot one to five for Diamer-Bhasha Dam and Hydropower Project.

Rs 11 billion will be spent on Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project having a capacity of 969 MW, Rs 11 billion on Tarbela-IV Extension Hydropower Project with a capacity of 1410 MW and Rs 05 billion have been set aside for up-gradation of Guddu Power Project having a capacity of 747 MW of highly economical power.
