PPP-backed candidates lose PTA polls

Ratodero, Sindh: Primary teachers Sadaruddin Umrani and Khuda Bux Mirani have been elected for the fifth consecutive time as president and general secretary, respectively in Primary Teachers Association (PTA) Ratodero taluka chapter election of defeating PPP backed Ustad Dost panel candidate Anees Rehman Junejo with wide margin of 291 votes.

Total 1117 votes were casted by the male/female primary teachers in entire Ratodero taluka out of which panel of Umrani got 704 votes and their opponents were only able to secure 413 votes; therefore, the panel of Sadaruddin Umrani was declared winner in the election with the margin of 291 votes.

Umrani panel has been winning this election since 2001. On the instructions of PPP high command, its leaders including Ratodero taluka president Aijaz Leghari and others were present in the camp of their favorite candidate Anees Junejo in Ratodero throughout the day. In Naundero MPA Suhail Siyal was seen sitting in the camp along with incharge SSP Larkana Kamran Nawaz and DSP Naundero Yasin Tagar but despite that their candidate failed to win.

The winners took out a procession and danced in street, beating drums.
