PPP leader jailed for 5 years in illicit weapon case

THATTA: Additional Sessions Court of Thatta awarded four-year imprisonment along with Rs 50,000 fine to local leader of Pakistan People’s Party for possessing illicit weapons.

The first Additional Sessions judge of Thatta found PPP leader Ali Sher Brohi of possessing illicit weapons. The judge pronounced his verdict after recording the witnesses’ statements, evidences and arguments from both sides.

The judge observed that the charges against Ali stood proved beyond shadow of doubt. According to sources, the law enforcers arrested him two months ago and took him away to Karachi for the interrogation. Later he was handed over to police.
