PPP won’t tolerate democracy derailment: MNAJuly 9, 2014
KARACHI: Opposition Leader in National Assembly Khursheed Ahmed Shah on Thursday said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) would not tolerate derailment of democracy in the country.
Addressing a press conference at PPP media cell, Shah said that PPP had sacrificed its leaders and workers during its struggle for democracy in the country and it was not in favour of derailing democracy in the country.
He said that innocent men and women were killed in the Model Town tragedy and the incident was incompetence of chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif.
Shah said that agitation on roads was not the solution of problems instead they should be discussed and resolved in parliament. He said that security situation after North Waziristan Operation does not permit massive rallies in the capital as announced by PTI Chief Imran Khan on August 14. He asked as if any terror incident occur during the PTI rally then who would be responsible for it.
He said that Imran spent one year in the parliament and accepted the democratic system but now he was trying to destabilize the system.” Imran is calling for tsunami on August 14,” he said adding that tsunami means destruction and PPP would not allow anyone to damage the system.
Responding to the issue of implementation of Article 62-63, Shah said that no one had the right to declare someone pious or sinful and interfere into the private life of any person.
