PRF continues relief in TharNovember 18, 2014
KARACHI: Haleem Adil Shaikh, President, PML Sindh and Chairman Pakistan Relief Foundation (PRF), has visited drought and famine hit areas of Kohistan in district Jamshoro and Thatta, distributed seven water tankers, water coolers, ration bags and other items of basic need.
Shaikh along with PRF volunteers and villagers visited various villages including Muhammad Bux Shoro, Jeewan Kohli, Habib Shoro, Nabi Bux Shoro, Kandoo Khoso, Shahmir Shoro and others. Shaikh distributed a big number of water coolers, ration bags and other things of basic use among the villagers.
He also filled the tanks and pots of villagers with water which was provided through seven water tankers.
The “emergency fresh water supply project” for Kohistan areas was being implemented by PRF with the help of individual supporters and volunteers.
On the occasion, Shaikh met victim families and got first-hand information about the drought and famine situation, its losses and government failures. “People are crying against government and they said that government has proved as failed to facilitate them.”
Talking to media, Shaikh who served Sindh government as adviser to chief minister for Relief in the past, said that provincial government and federal governments had failed to take pre-disaster measures. He said that PRF volunteers had visited every nook and corner of Kohistan and provided relief to the needy people.
“This is my second visit to Kohistan areas. In last visit, PRF had provided 10 drinking water tankers in some five villages benefiting over 500 famine affectees including men, women and children.
He said that his PRF team is planning to visit Kachho areas where drought also hitting thousands of families, where water tankers and other things of basic use would also be distributed.
He said that winter season would bring more difficulties in the lives of famine hit families, if government did not open its eyes.
