PRGMEA calls for lowering production cost at regional level

KARACHI: Mian Mohammad Adrees President FPCCI urged all businessmen, members of Anjumn-e-Tajiran and Shopkeepers who are out of tax net to file their tax return before 30th September, 2015 and get exemption from 0.3% WHT on all banking transactions.

He further said that the business community held meaning-full discussions with FBR where a large number of the members of business community, the Presidents of FPCCI, KCCI, RCCI, KPK CCI, SCCI, MCCI, FCCI and representatives of Anjuman-e-Tajran Pakistan, Naeem Mir, Ajmal Baloch, Babaer Khurana, Ch. Chulam Sabir, Aslam Bhalli, Shahid Paracha, Akram Pasha, Sh. Mohammad Siddique, Ch. Amir Siddique, Pervez Malik MNA, Mian Abdul Mannan, MNA, Rana Mohammad Afzal, Parlimanentary Secretary, Haroon Akhtar Khan and Zubair Tufail also attended the session. From FBR Side the Chairman FBR Tariq Bajwa, Shahid Hussain Asad, Member (IR-P), Mohammad Ashraf Khan, Member (IR-OP) and Amjad Zubair Tiwana Chief FBR were also present.

Mian Adrees further informed that a historical agreement had been signed between the business community and FBR in the presence of Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar through which 0.3% WHT would be adjustable for non-filers upto 30th September 2015 when they will submit their tax return and become tax filer. He said that as per the agreement all non-filers are allowed to file their return on the or before 30th September, 2015 for the period of 30-06-2015. He further informed that the turnover tax to be agreed according to various trades between FPCCI and FBR. He also informed that the extension of schedule III to be undertaken/consider on sector to sector basis for sales tax.

The President FPCCI further informed that during the discussion the Finance Minister advised the Chairman FBR to address the problems of business community specially SMEs and members of Anjuman-e-Tajran to introduce new one page tax return forms both Urdu and English so that new filer can submit their return easily before 30th September. Mian Adrees further said that FBR also assured us that the new tax filers will not be given any harassment from tax authorities.
