Probe under way into anti-rangers advertisement: minister

KARACHI: Sindh Information and Education Minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has said that an inquiry is under way into a Sindh government advertisement published against the rangers, and for this a committee in the supervision of DIG CTD Sanaullah Abbasi had been formed.

He said this in a media briefing at Karachi Press Club after attending the book launching ceremony of founder member of KPC S R Ghouri, entitled “Let the People Judge”, organized by KPC Adabi (Literature) Committee.

To a question he said there would be some reasons of protest in Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Karachi and the Secretary Board will review the issue.

Khuhro said information department plays the role of a postman in publication of government advertisements and it has no authority to amend any content it receives for publication. He said any content it gets, it sends to publication department without amending it. He said the draft which had been sent to Information department by SSP would be based on investigation, adding those involved will be punished if found guilty.

He said a Provincial Accountability Commission is being formed for a fair and even-handed probe in corruption cases. He said everyone will have to face the accountability process.

Javed Ghouri, Dr Ghous Mohammad, Jamshed Mirza, Zeb Azkar Hussain and others also spoke.
